Sarasota Paradise will travel north to face St. Petersburg FC in what will be a decisive edition of the Skyway Derby on Wednesday night.
Last Saturday night, Paradise had a comfortable 3-0 win over Weston FC at Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch. Goals from Jeffrey White, Owen Barnett, and Andres Friere helped the squad collect three points.
Paradise and Saint Petersburg faced each other in Sarasota’s home opener, with the teams sharing the points in a 1-1 draw. St. Petersburg found the goal in the first half, and Paradise would find an equalizer in the 93rd minute of play after a Lukas Kamrath goal.
Saint Petersburg FC (7-1-1), currently sits in first place in the USL League Two South Florida division, with Sarasota Paradise (7-1-1) right behind them in second, behind only because of goal differential.
St. Petersburg FC have only had three games at home games all season, all of which have been won in convincing fashion. Two of those results have been 4-1 wins, with the other being a 5-0 victory. The team is currently in the midst of a four game homestand, Paradise will be the second game in this stretch.
Sarasota Paradise will face St. Petersburg FC on Wednesday, July 2nd, with kickoff scheduled for 7pm at Johnson Athletic Field- Eckerd College. The result of this game will have massive implications on which clubs in the division will make the playoffs.
