
SARASOTA, Fla. — August 24, 2026 — Sarasota Paradise announced today the acquisition of defender Mukisa “Kisa” Kiingi on loan from USL Championship side Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC for the remainder of the 2026 season.
The 24-year-old, 6-foot-1 defender joins Paradise with professional experience at both the MLS NEXT Pro and USL Championship levels, adding size, physicality and versatility to the Paradise back line.
Kiingi began his professional career with Minnesota United FC 2, making 14 appearances during the 2025 season while recording one goal and 845 minutes. He also created eight chances, completed 89% of his passes and recorded 15 interceptions during his time with the club.
In 2026, Kiingi joined Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC of the USL Championship, initially signing a 25-day contract before earning a deal through the remainder of the season. During his initial stretch with the Switchbacks, Kiingi made two appearances and completed 100% of his tackles while recording a key interception and a 92.3% passing accuracy.
Prior to turning professional, Kiingi enjoyed a standout four-year career at Cornell University, where he appeared in 59 matches, scoring seven goals and adding eight assists from 2021–2024. As a senior, he served as team captain and earned All-Ivy League Honorable Mention recognition.
As Paradise battles for a playoff spot, Kiingi arrives at a pivotal moment in the club’s inaugural professional season, bringing valuable experience, versatility and added depth for the final stretch.
