Sarasota Paradise has added a promising young talent to its backline ahead of the 2025 season. Malik Sylvester, a 20-year-old center back from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, will bring his defensive strength to the squad as the team looks to defend its South Florida Division title.
Sylvester’s journey began in his hometown, where he developed through the ranks of FC Edmonton. Before heading to the collegiate level, he gained valuable experience on a developmental contract with the Canadian Premier League club. Since 2022, he has been a standout for Oakland University, recently completing his third season.
Excited to take the next step in his career, Sylvester shared, “I’m very excited to be joining such a strong and talented team, and I can’t wait to get started this summer!” The 2025 season kicks off on May 17 at Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch.
