A familiar face and a fan favorite since the club’s inaugural year, Ryan ‘The Spark’ Sims returns for his third season with Paradise, bringing game-changing moments back to Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch. Supporters will remember his dramatic equalizer in the final home game of our first season — a clutch goal that showcased his ability to rise to the occasion.
A product of the local soccer scene, Sims chose to stay close to home for his youth career, joining Braden River’s ECNL team. That decision paid off, as he helped lead the team to a State Championship, a defining highlight in his development. His success on the youth level opened the door to college soccer, and he now competes at Thomas University, where he’ll enter his senior season this fall.
Now, he returns to the field that shaped his journey. “I’m excited to play at Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch again — it’s where I grew up playing, so it feels like coming home,” Sims said. “It’s more than just a field; it’s a big part of Sarasota’s soccer culture, and I’m looking forward to making new memories there.”
