SARASOTA, Fla. — September 25, 2026 — Sarasota Paradise recorded a historic week during its inaugural professional season, highlighted by a 6-0 victory over Greenville Triumph SC that marked the largest home win in USL League One history, multiple individual milestones, and the professional debut of another player from the Paradise Youth Academy.
Paradise hosted Greenville on Saturday, September 19, and recorded its largest victory of the season. The 6-0 result established a USL League One record for the largest home victory in league history and extended Paradise’s unbeaten run to six matches, the longest unbeaten streak in club history.
The victory also produced several individual milestones.
Paradise defender Anderson Rosa scored his seventh goal of the season, becoming the highest-scoring defender in a single USL League One season. Rosa has started all 26 of Paradise’s league matches this season and leads the club with seven goals and five assists. Against Greenville, Rosa opened the scoring before assisting Sander Røed on the sixth and final goal of the match.
Forward Jonathan Bolanos also reached a significant career milestone. With his fifth goal of the season against Greenville, Bolanos became just the sixth player in USL League One history to record at least 20 career goals and 15 career assists in regular-season play. He currently has 20 goals and 17 assists in his USL League One career.
The match also featured three significant career appearance milestones. Forward Emiliano Terzaghi made his 150th USL League One appearance, while midfielder Ethan Bryant reached 100 appearances and defender Reid Valentine recorded his 50th.
The match provided another significant moment for Paradise’s player-development pathway, as Lucas Fredericks made his professional debut in the 87th minute. Fredericks became the fourth player from the Paradise Youth Academy to make his professional debut during the club’s inaugural professional season, joining Dominik Brulinski, Adam Kend, and Kevin Sanchez.
“It’s important for everybody to understand that you have to walk the talk of player development,” said Head Coach Mika Elovaara. “The only way you can do that is if you are good enough to sign an academy contract, then it means you are good enough to be on the field. You’ve got to find the right moments and the right games to put the younger players in the gameday roster. We have some real competition, as you see from who’s traveled and who’s been in the gameday roster out of the academy contract players.”
Paradise’s performance against Greenville also received recognition across USL League One, with six players selected to the league’s Team of the Week.
Rosa, Bolanos, and Røed were named to the starting lineup. Rosa and Bolanos each recorded a goal and an assist, while Røed scored twice. Goalkeeper Alex Sutton, defender Kisa Kiingi, and midfielder Brendan Krueger were selected to the Team of the Week bench.
Sutton recorded his fifth clean sheet of the season and made four saves. Kiingi led Paradise with eight tackles won, won 10 of 11 duels, and completed 90% of his passes. Krueger recorded a goal and an assist, scoring in consecutive matches. He was also recognized as one of nine young talents across USL Championship and USL League One featured during Week 29.
With the victory over Greenville, Paradise has now gone unbeaten in its last six matches as the club enters the final stretch of the regular season and continues its pursuit of a postseason position.
The week marked another series of significant achievements for Sarasota Paradise during its first season of professional competition, with the club establishing league records, reaching individual milestones, and continuing to develop players through its youth-to-professional pathway.
