Sarasota Paradise is rallying the community in a first-of-its-kind initiative that blends soccer, community pride, and nonprofit support. The club has announced “Heroes in Paradise: The Race to 1,885 Deposits” — a friendly competition between four Sarasota nonprofits with a major donation on the line.
From September 3 through October 1, fans and community members can place a $26 deposit toward Sarasota Paradise’s inaugural professional season in USL League One in 2026. Each deposit made through a nonprofit’s unique link will count toward that organization’s total. At the end of the campaign, the nonprofit with the most deposits earned will receive a major donation from Sarasota Paradise — guaranteed, regardless of whether the 1,885 goal is reached.
The participating nonprofits include:
- Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue – Providing shelter, care, and adoption services for homeless cats and dogs.
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast – Matching young people with mentors who change lives.
- Ability to Include – Creating inclusive opportunities for people of all abilities through sport and community.
- SRQ Vets – Supporting veterans and their families with resources and connection.
The campaign’s goal of 1,885 deposits is symbolic, honoring the founding year of Sarasota. It also marks the club’s next chapter, as Sarasota Paradise transitions from USL League Two to professional soccer in 2026.
“Every deposit represents both a fan committing to the future of professional soccer in Sarasota and these incredible nonprofits. We are grateful for their important work on behalf of all of us.” said Marcus Walfridson, Founder and CEO of Sarasota Paradise.
Throughout the month, Sarasota Paradise will spotlight each nonprofit with on-site visits, photo features, and video storytelling across its digital platforms. Weekly updates will track which organization is leading the race.
