Tampa, FL – Will Pierce and Kai Tamashiro each scored, and Brendan Reilly kept a clean sheet in his first start as the Sarasota Paradise blanked Tampa Bay United 2-0 for their first win of the season.
Sarasota (1-1-1) came into the game searching for its first win of the season after playing to a gritty draw at Swan City last Saturday. The first half was a scoreless draw, as both teams showcased their stifling defense and aggressive play. The score remained this way until the 87th minute, when Kai Tamashiro took the ball on a fast break and put it past the keeper to seal a 2-0 win.
Will Pierce was named man of the match for his stellar performance including a goal and great attacking play.
The Paradise also saw Victor Vandenbroek back on the pitch to secure the win.
