The Sarasota Paradise continue their fight for a playoff spot on Tuesday night, as they welcome Miami AC to Cleland Stadium for their final home game of the year. The Paradise (6-1-3) are coming off a brutal tie against Tampa Bay United which dropped them to second in the standings, while Miami (7-1-2) comes into the game having narrowly defeated Weston FC 1-0 in their last game. This matchup, a reschedule from June 19, will be the second between the two teams this season. Miami won the first game 2-1 in the season opener, starting a run of seven games without a loss as they staked a firm claim to the top spot of the South Florida Division. Sarasota, meanwhile, had to wait two more weeks for their first win of the season, which started their current run of eight games unbeaten as they worked their way into the playoff conversation. Miami remains the only team in the division to have beat the Paradise. The Paradise is looking to return the favor to Miami and get themselves back in first place.
This game is crucial for the Paradise in their fight for the playoffs, as anything less than a win would eliminate them from playoff contention.
