Sarasota Paradise is thrilled to announce the addition of Doug Hainer to the squad ahead of the 2025 USL League Two season. A dynamic and creative midfielder, Hainer brings a proven track record of attacking production, further strengthening the club’s push to defend its South Florida Division title.
Hainer recently transferred to Northwestern University, where he will continue his collegiate career. For his junior and sophomore seasons, he played at Coastal Carolina University, where he led the Chanticleers in goals, assists and points during the 2024 season, starting 16 games. His performance earned him CSC Academic All-District recognition and a spot on the Dean’s List for the 2024 fall semester, highlighting his excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
Prior to his breakout junior season, Hainer made an impact in 2023 with 15 appearances (10 starts), leading the team with four assists and finishing second with six points. He also earned Dean’s List honors for the 2023 fall semester.
Before transferring to Coastal Carolina, Hainer spent his freshman season at Oakland University, where he started 13 of 19 games and scored a game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Detroit Mercy. He logged over 1,193 minutes that season and was later named to the President’s List with a perfect 4.0 GPA for the 2023 spring semester.
Hainer’s pedigree extends to the MLS NEXT level, where he starred for Vardar as the leading scorer for both the U17 and U19 squads. Among his highlights was a memorable hat trick in a 4-3 win over Wolves Academy in the Michigan Derby.
“I’m extremely blessed and excited to get to work in Sarasota,” said Hainer. “It’s going to be a great test for myself and the team this season! Let’s go Paradise!”
Hainer’s arrival brings another proven competitor to a roster full of high-level talent.
